"New for 2010 is my time for yards"
I have added 2009 "Ratings" from 01/01/2009 to 31/12/2009 with some big changes - Shelbourne Park has been improving since the 1st July. Now it's up by 0.24 seconds and no doubt that it won't be long before the I.G.B uprate it to plus 0.30. Tracks that have gone down the ratings such as Waterford\ Longford and Kilkenny will be monitored but tracks like Cork do not vary a lot, during the last 10 years it has only gone from 28.60 to 28.72 at the most and then bounced back. In fact out of the last ten years Cork has finished on top 8 times and 2rd twice, beaten once a sh/hd by Limerick and last year 0.05 by Shelbourne Park. Now that Shelbourne Park has hit the top as it deserves to be it will take some shifting. No other track compares to the quality of racing on a saturday night as week after week out of 12 races there are usually 10 A0 races. This year i have added number of races run over 525 yards at each track & the total number of races covered 15,161.
On the left is the I.G.B & on the right mine. This will be easier for people who find it hard to understand the grading system, This one is for the A1 grade but you can use it for all grades if you just change the time 20 for each grade, like this A1 = 28.60 to 28.79 for Cork/Limerick/Longford/Waterford then all the others are 28.90 to 29.09 except Mullingar which is Minus 50 making A1 29.40 to 29.59. When you go to A2 it will be 28.80 to 28.99 for Cork/Limerick/Longford/Waterford all the others 29.10 to 29.29 and Mullingar would be 29.60 to 29.79 for A2.

Why is it better to use my rating? Because they are much more accurate.
Take for example comparing Shelbourne Park & Longford. On the I.G.B It would be Longford plus 30 & Shelbourne Park zero. On mine Shelbourne Park plus 30 & Longford plus 10, take for example that you needed to see what a top class dog would do over both tracks at 525 yards. Name one as "Royal Tornado" who ran at Longford in July and Shelbourne in September,
His best time at Longford 28.38 & at Shelbourne 29.59 for 550 yards which is 28.25 for 525 yards. If you take the I.G.B rating you need to add 30 for Longford making his time 28.68 the time he should do at Shelbourne but if you use mine it would be 28.25 plus 30 = 28.55 at Shelbourne & 28.38 plus10 = 28.48 at Longford.
On 30th December at Kilkenny the going was rated 1.50 slow & A1/2 grade dog best winnining time was 30.99 less 1.50 for going = 29.49 according to I.G.B but if you had used mine Kilkenny is rated 30 slow so the time would have been 29.19 which is A2 grade there. The othe A1/2 race was won in 30.11 less 1.50 = 29.61 according to I.G.B but with my rating 29.31 - A2 grade = 29.10 to 29.29 just 2 pips outside.
